LOADING GUIDED MUNITION SEQUENCE ▸ 000 / 299

Guided Munition

Precision, under human command.

Effector platform

Guided Munition

Terminal guidance through jammed approaches. The operator authorises every engagement.

Subsystems

Guided Munition, shown with its major subsystems marked.
  • Navigation core

Positional reference through a denied approach.

  • Control section

Applies correction to the flight path.

  • Payload section

Inert until an operator authorises the engagement.

What it solves

An approach that depends on satellite navigation can be broken by jamming at exactly the moment accuracy matters most. The design intent is to keep guidance working through a denied approach so that accuracy does not collapse — which is itself a safety property, because a guided round that loses its reference is the dangerous one.

The brain

GVL provides the positional reference through the approach. Correction is automated; the decision to engage is not, and is not designed to be. An operator authorises the engagement and retains that authority throughout.

An operator authorises every engagement. Guidance and correction are automated; the decision to engage is not, and is not designed to be.
