GVL Brain
Vision-based position fixing where satellite navigation cannot be trusted.
What it solves
Satellite navigation is the softest part of most airframes. It can be jammed with inexpensive equipment and spoofed with only slightly more, and a platform that cannot fix its own position is a platform that cannot finish its task. GVL removes that single point of failure by fixing position from what the aircraft can see rather than what it is told.
The brain
GVL is the brain itself. It matches imagery from the onboard camera against known geo-visual reference data to work out where the aircraft is, and keeps doing so while the satellite picture is degraded or absent. Every other platform in this catalogue is an airframe the brain inhabits.
